Yet another boy/girl duo, and yet another boy/girl duo dabbling in the same woozy dream-pop landscape. While this may be true, Boardwalk – who comprise of Mike Edge and Amber Quintero – also offer something (at least based on the below ‘I’m to Blame’) in the way of appeal and melodic allure that is difficult not to succumb to. The Mazzy Star all the way through to Beach House reference points are undeniably inescapable, but so is the pull of the skeletal melody, hushed vocals and almost Chris Isaak-esque guitar swirls that unfurl constantly throughout.
